Tuning engines to stratospheric power certainly requires from the tuners to rethink all other elements of the car. C’mon, doubling the power can be done by massive changes in the engine department, but every good tuner knows that he will have to rework the transmission, improve the braking system and rethink the suspension. However, quadrupling the power, like on this incredible Underground Racing Gallardo, means that all of the most important features of the vehicle must be reinvented. This Gallardo certainly received many improvements except one!
Underground Racing wanted to keep the robotized manual gearbox the Gallardo uses in its stock form. It is called the E-Gear and it works great in the stock car, but we guess that some issues might start emerging in a Gallardo with an engine developing insane 2000+hp.
Single plate clutch used here is apparently stiff enough to cope with the insane power 5.2L V10 can deliver. To prove its incredible power and speed, Underground Racing used this Superleggera at the No Fly Zone Arizona Event where it hit the incredible speed of brutal 231.95 mph (373 km/h) over a half a mile.
Underground Racing is basically the king of events like this. In November, they released the fastest Huracan of them all and topped out with it at 238.6 mph (384.14 km/h).
