Is this unexpected or what!? A Peugeot 205 (one of the best small cars ever) smoked out an Audi R8 V8. Not that the Audi R8 V8 is the fastest or the best sports car out there, but it is not a slouch with 4.5 seconds to 62 mph, is it!? Apparently, the one shown here has a V8 inside with power of 435 HP. It is not a stock car since the stock one has 420 HP. Additional 15 HP could come from the new high-flow exhaust and better air filters. Not that 15 HP more than stock helped a lot. The magnificent Peugeot 205 TCT simply passed the R8 in this amazing drag race.
The 205 TCT, on the other hand, is heavily modified. Based on the Peugeot 205 GTI, the car received an all new two liter turbocharged engine, various parts from newer Peugeot models (including the 307, the 807 and others) with power surging to insane 450 HP. That is more than the V8 in the Audi and the 205 has a whole lot of weight less than the German sports car.
All in all, the quarter of a mile drag race did go strange and unexpected, but then again, this Peugeot is a hell of a machine with serious power under the bonnet.
