2017 Porsche Panamera is finally revealed and while it has much the same layout as the previous gen car, the newest car is actually far more impressive than anything from before. Changes were profound. The new car is a bit longer, more aerodynamic, and definitely better looking than before. Porsche gave a whole lot of freedom to the designers in their efforts to design a better car and here is the video demonstrating how did they manage to do so.
Porsche designers’ task was to transfer all the sports car design features on the car that is the longest and the widest in the segment. The idea was to create a shape that will unmistakably translate the message “I am a sports car.” We are not making this up as Porsche designers themselves emphasize this a few times in the attached video. The car had to become a bit flatter and sportier, taking much truer Porsche DNA compared to any large Porsche car of before.
They certainly did it right as the new car actually has the lines we have seen before on the best Stuttgart sports cars. See a bit of Mission-E, a bit of 911 and even a bit of fantastic 918 Spyder. Although it is bigger than any of those, the Panamera received much more swooped rear end of the roof giving it a fastback styling. Despite such a generous sporty styling causes, the interior apparently remained more than suitable to host the passengers in rather plush and luxurious ambiance. However, the sports character remains the only true form Porsche wanted to instill in the Panamera. This is an awesome car – probably the best sports sedan ever and we are quite sure that the market will recognize its sporty and quite rebellious character.
